Ally Sheedy

Nowadays, more and more celebrities are expressing their support for gender equality. It’s not a surprise though, as many celebs themselves have been in the closet due to the stigma of being in the spectrum. Likewise, those who have had a close relationship with LGBTQ+ members have shown their support and love by advocating for gender equality. One example is the actress Ally Sheedy, an actress who was raised by a lesbian mother.

Ally Sheedy knew about her mother’s romantic preferences when she was young, especially after her parents went their separate ways. Because of this, when her daughter came out to her, she had nothing but love and support to offer her. Having first-hand experience motivated her to be an advocate of gender equality. Sheedy also credits the strength of her mother for inspiring her to be a proponent of gender equality. She now uses her influence to voice her activism.
