Rapper turned TV personality Cardi B launched her career in 2017, thanks to the success of her song Bodak Yellow. She developed her stage name as a derivation of the rum brand, Bacardi, which was her nickname in the past. In 2013, Cardi B gained a high degree of notoriety because of her entertaining videos going viral on social media, such as the popular video-sharing app Vine.

The female rapper’s first endorsement deal came in 2016 with the New York fashion chain Romantic Depot. Other partnerships she was involved in include MAC Cosmetics, Reebok, Gypsy Sport, and Pepsi. Through her exposure to these businesses, she became interested in producing her own clothing line with Fashion Nova. Meanwhile, her partnership with Reebok allowed her to release her apparel and footwear collection, inspired by her style and paying homage to the classic ’80s styling.
