Throughout his teens, William James Adams Jr. was quite a partygoer. The experience eventually played a significant influence in his career in the music industry, where he donned the stage name, will.i.am. While he is now often recognized for founding the Black Eyed Peas, the singer-rapper also takes credit for producing songs for other artists such as Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga.

Through the years, will.i.am has ventured to other kinds of projects. While he’s appeared in films and landed a spot as a judge in The Voice, it would be quite a disservice to disregard the Black Eyed Peas founder’s contribution to the technology industry. His early projects include an add-on accessory that allows an iPhone to capture more defined and high-quality images. Other endeavors will.i.am had along the way include becoming Intel’s director of creative innovation in 2011 and, three years later, 3D Systems’ chief creative officer.
