She rose to fame hosting her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and from there launched a massive empire that propelled her to billionaire status. Among the numerous investments are Harpo productions, as well as an impressive array of real estate properties. Oprah is also known for her philanthropy works. The TV host is also known to give back to the community, primarily focusing on education.

She launched Oprah’s Angel Network that supports different non-profit organizations. She has also established the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa and has given $40 million to it from her funds. Thanks to her philanthropy work and her contribution to the entertainment industry, Oprah was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom which former President Barack Obama gave. Indeed, the famous host is a beacon of hope to women and people of color around the world.
